Why 108 beads?

In both the Hindu and Buddhist traditions 108 is seen as a sacred number.  It is said that there are 108 energy lines that connect and come together to form the heart chakra, and one of these lines being the path to self realization.

What is a Guru Bead?

The Guru Bead is said to symbolize the Guru from who the student has received a mantra being used or recited, and represents the student-guru relationship.

Why is there a tassel?

The Tassel represents our connection to the divine and to each other.

How to cleanse your mala?

Mals beads absorb and store energy.  It is suggested that you do not lend or share your malas with others as not to transfer any energy.  Also you may wish to cleanse your malas periodically using the cleansing technique that you resonates with you.

Mala Cleansing Techniques:

- Place in sunlight or moonlight for several hours

- Burn white sage

- Surround the mala with sound vibration of singing bowls or chanting

Each True Bliss Living mala is handmade while chanting and being surrounded by the sound frequency and vibrations of mantra music therefore cleansing is not necessary before wearing.

With regular use or due to storage while traveling the tassel may need freshening up.  Simply wet the tassel under water, gently comb through the strands, and hang in sunlight to dry.
